Makhanike Mobile Mechanic ("we", "us", "our") provides mobile mechanical services across Gauteng and Polokwane, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

When you request a quote or contact us through this website, we collect the information you choose to give us, including:

• Your address or the location where the vehicle will be
• Vehicle details: make, model, variant, year, engine size, transmission, fuel type, and VIN

• Any notes you provide about the issue or job

We do not collect payment card details through this website. Payments are arranged directly with you via EFT or in person.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Prepare and send you an accurate quote
• Schedule, confirm, and carry out the booked service
• Contact you about your booking, vehicle, or invoice
• Keep records required for invoicing, warranty, and tax purposes

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with marketers or other third parties for their own use.

Who We Share It With

Quote requests submitted through this website are processed by Netlify, our website hosting provider, purely to deliver the submission to us by email. Netlify does not use this information for its own purposes. We may also share limited information with parts suppliers where necessary to complete a repair, and with our accountant for invoicing and tax compliance.

Cookies & Similar Technology

This website keeps things deliberately simple:

• We use your browser's temporary session storage to remember if you've already seen our WhatsApp chat prompt, so it doesn't show more than once per visit. This information never leaves your device and is not used to track you.
• Website fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your device's IP address as a standard part of loading any web font.
• We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit this site and which pages they find useful. This tool does not use cookies, does not collect or store any personal information, and cannot identify or track you individually or across other websites — it only reports anonymous, aggregate figures like total visits and popular pages.
• We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.

As promised the last time this policy was updated: we've reflected the change here rather than adding analytics quietly. If that ever changes to a tool that does use cookies or track individuals, we will update this policy again and, where required, request your consent first.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep quote and job information for as long as reasonably necessary to complete your service, honour any applicable warranty (up to 10,000km or 6 months), and meet our record-keeping obligations under South African tax law.

Your Rights Under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required by law to keep it
• Object to how your information is used
