Who We Are

Makhanike Mobile Mechanic ("we", "us", "our") provides mobile mechanical services across Gauteng and Polokwane, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information We Collect

When you request a quote or contact us through this website, we collect the information you choose to give us, including:

• Your name, phone number, and email address
• Your address or the location where the vehicle will be
• Vehicle details: make, model, variant, year, engine size, transmission, fuel type, and VIN
• Your preferred appointment date and time
• Any notes you provide about the issue or job

We do not collect payment card details through this website. Payments are arranged directly with you via EFT or in person.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Prepare and send you an accurate quote
• Schedule, confirm, and carry out the booked service
• Contact you about your booking, vehicle, or invoice
• Keep records required for invoicing, warranty, and tax purposes

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with marketers or other third parties for their own use.

If we've sent you a quote, we may follow up once by email, and after a completed and paid job we may send one email asking how we did. Each of these emails has a link at the bottom that lets you opt out in one click, and once you do we won't send them to that email address again. You'll still receive the messages we need to send about a booking you've made, such as appointment confirmations, payment details, quotes, and invoices.

Who We Share It With

Quote requests submitted through this website are processed by Netlify, our website hosting provider, purely to deliver the submission to us by email. Netlify does not use this information for its own purposes. We may also share limited information with parts suppliers where necessary to complete a repair, and with our accountant for invoicing and tax compliance.

Cookies & Similar Technology

This website keeps things deliberately simple:

• We use your browser's temporary session storage to remember if you've already seen our WhatsApp chat prompt, so it doesn't show more than once per visit. This information never leaves your device and is not used to track you.
• Website fonts are stored on and loaded from our own website, so loading them does not send your information to a third party.
• We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit this site and which pages they find useful. This tool does not use cookies, does not collect or store any personal information, and cannot identify or track you individually or across other websites — it only reports anonymous, aggregate figures like total visits and popular pages.
• We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our adverts work. The Google tag loads on our pages and, as with any Google tag, Google receives your IP address and device information when it does. If you arrived from one of our ads, it may use cookies to link your visit to that ad, and it records when you send a quote request or tap a WhatsApp link or phone number. Google may also use this tag to add your visit to audience lists, so that our adverts can be shown to you again on Google and its partner sites. You can manage ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com or block cookies in your browser settings.

If we add other tools that use cookies or track individuals, we will update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep quote and job information for as long as reasonably necessary to complete your service, honour any applicable warranty (up to 10,000km or 6 months), and meet our record-keeping obligations under South African tax law.

Your Rights Under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required by law to keep it
• Object to how your information is used
